Ephesians 1:1-14: ‘We’ve got it all!’

Speaker: Pr Darren Burnett

At WPC Belconnen, we are working our way through the Book of Ephesians at our Sunday morning services in term 3 and early term 4, 2021. Paul writes this letter to teach his readers – including you and me – all about the amazing riches god has poured out lavishly on all of us who follow Jesus. The only right way for a Christian to live is by living a life of joy and thankfulness, praising our Heavenly Father for all He has done for us, all He is doing, and all He has promised to do for us in the future. Levi opens this recording by reading Ephesians 1:1-14.

Text: Ephesians 1:1-14
Title: ‘We’ve got it all!’

Big idea: Followers of Jesus are the richest people in this world. We are called to live lives of thankfulness and praise to God for the many blessings He has poured out upon us. These include…

1. Blessings from God the Father (1:1-6)
a. He has chosen us (vv. 3-4)
b. He has adopted us (vv.5-6)
2. Blessings from God the Son (1:7-12)
a. He has redeemed us (v.7-8)
b. He has revealed God’s will to us (vv.9-10)
c. He has given us an inheritance (vv.11-12)
3. Blessings from God the Holy Spirit (1:13-14)
a. He has sealed us for God (v.13)
b. He has guaranteed our inheritance (v.14)
