This sermon was preached at WPC Belconnen’s morning service on Sunday, October 3, 2021. The text was Ephesians 6:10-24. This was the final sermon on our 2021 series on Ephesians.
The Book of Ephesians ends with Paul’s charge to the Christians at Ephesus to stand against the ‘schemes of the devil’ by putting on the armour of God and praying always. Throughout the first three chapters of this letter, Paul describes the amazing grace God has lavished on us and His power at work within us. In chapters 4 to 6, Paul then calls on followers of Jesus to walk in a manner worthy of their calling in Christ. And he finishes the letter by reminding us that, as followers of Christ, we are now involved in a spiritual battle against Satan and the forces of darkness which are at war against the Lamb and His followers.
