This sermon was delivered at WPC Belconnen’s morning service on September 5, 2021. The text expounded is Ephesians 4:1-16. This sermon was part of a series studying Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians.
Here, in the first half of Ephesians 4, Paul calls on Christians to ‘walk in a manner worthy of our calling as followers of Jesus, members of His church.’ Paul has told us all about our glorious calling and status in Christ in chapter 2, when He said that non-Jewish Christians like the Ephesian believers – and like us – are now ‘fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household’ – 2:19. All who are in Christ are ‘being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit’ – 2:22. This is our calling – and, in this passage, Paul calls us to walk in a manner worthy of it.
